Why did the Michigan and Florida democrats push up their primary dates if they knew they weren't allowed?

What right does a particular political party have to DEMAND that a state hold it's primary on a specific date? The political party isn't paying for the primary, the state is. They have every right to decide on their own when they are ready to count votes. Michigan and Florida moved theirs up despite what the two national committees said, and there will probably be a brokered resolution before the conventions. The two national committees are trying to protect New Hampshire, Iowa and Nevada as the first states to hold primaries or caucuses.
