Precancerous cells on cervix...What do I do next?
I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago due to fibroid tumors and also had endometriosis. One week after my surgery, the doctor called to give me the lab results from the surgery as well as pap smear he performed maybe 3 weeks before surgery. I had precancerous cells on my cervix. I go back to him in 4 weeks for my 6 week checkup for the hysterectomy. I will then ask him a ton of questions. However, I go back to him in 6 months for another pap due to precancerous cells. Is that too long to wait? I know he said a pap wouldn't be valid again unti about 6 months after surgery. Will it turn into cancer before January(my 6 mth. appt.) or is it ok to wait? If he thought other action should happen earlier, wouldn't he suggested that? What will happen next? Any personal experiences would be so much appreciated. I am scared!
