A relationship from yers ago..can it come back to life?

I am 60 years old and my ex husband is 63. I myself, am in a relationship that has been going nowhere for 12 years, and my ex husband is a devirced single man. We've talked about our relationship between us, but we are both are scared to make a move. We do live a far distance fromone another,but we do still keep in close contact by talking on the phone once in awhile to check up on eacth other. We do love each other in a sort of bother sister plus a little more then that ,feelings for eachother. I know he cares for me for he does help me when ever i am in need(cause the man i am with does nother for me, but that is not the point) like he will give me money & ect. Can this relationship at this time of our life, work for the both of us(he is a retired man and i at the time being do not work,but i know hw could support us both very very well)? I would like to hear ur comments or adivce. So would this really work? Cuz neither one of us would like to try with someone other them ourselfs
